Changes by third parties
We recommend that no one other than us resizes, reshapes, re-plates, solders or otherwise modifies a Zyiko piece, because this can change the structure and character of the piece. If you have a piece altered elsewhere, damage that results from it isn’t covered as a defect. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. If you’d like a change, write to us first at hello@zyiko.at and we’ll see what’s possible.

Care for all Zyiko pieces
Our jewelry is made to be worn, and a few habits will keep it looking good for much longer:

• Take it off before showering, swimming, washing your hands, exercising and sleeping. Sweat speeds up tarnishing and wear.
• Keep it away from liquids and chemicals such as water, salt water, chlorine, soap, shampoo, perfume, hairspray, lotion, oils, make-up, self-tanner and cleaning products.
• Put your jewelry on last when you get ready and take it off first when you get home.
• Store each piece separately in a cloth pouch or its original box, in a dry place. This protects it from scratches and knocks.

Sterling silver
Silver reacts with air, moisture and everyday life and slowly darkens over time. That’s natural and not a flaw. At the first signs of darkening, gently polish the piece with a soft polishing cloth made for silver. Avoid abrasive cleaners, rough cloths and toothpaste, as they scratch the surface.

Gold-plated pieces
Our gold-plated pieces are made from sterling silver with a thin layer of gold on top. The plating wears down gradually with time and use, and how long it lasts depends mostly on how the piece is cared for. We can’t promise that it will last forever. When the plating wears through, the silver underneath can show.

What wears down gold plating faster:

• Friction: rubbing against clothes, bags, keys, your phone, desks and other jewelry. Rings and bracelets are touched the most and wear the fastest.
• Sweat and heat: sports, hot summer days, sauna and sleeping in your jewelry.
• Water: showering, swimming, washing your hands, salt water and chlorine.
• Products and chemicals: soap, shampoo, perfume, hairspray, lotion, oils, make-up, self-tanner, sanitizer and cleaning products.
• Abrasive cleaning: polishing cloths, polishing pastes, jewelry dips and toothpaste.
• Loose storage: pieces that lie together or in a damp place can scratch or rub each other.

Clean gold-plated pieces only with a soft, dry cloth. Please don’t use silver polishing cloths, pastes or dips, because they remove the plating.

Look after your Zyiko piece and it will stay with you for years, and it will only become more yours the longer you wear it.
